Watergardens Marketplace:

Beneath a Filtered Canopy

An exciting new fresh food precinct for Taylors Lakes in Victoria, containing a mix of fresh food retailers and market style dining experiences. The project creates a diversity of experiences beneath a shared canopy that blurs the lines between indoors and outdoors.

PROJECT STORY

A series of retail pavilions are set within an over-arching trellis canopy that ties the project together and extends into the landscape to bring the outdoors into the project. The mall spaces between pavilions are naturally ventilated, and features a translucent roof that brings in daylight and allows extensive planting to grow throughout the space.

Archer Office were responsible for preparing the feasibility, concept design and documentation up to planning application. NH Architecture, who are based in Melbourne, subsequently documented the project for construction.

The addition to Watergardens Marketplace ties into the existing structure of the shopping precinct.

Landscape begins to fill the external roof canopy of Watergardens Marketplace.

Under construction, 2020.
